Bere Marsh Farm, Shillingstone

Bere Marsh is situated between the meandering River Stour and the former Somerset & Dorset railways, close to the village of Shillingstone in the Blackmore Vale area of North Dorset. 

The Countryside Restoration Trust brought the 92-acre farm in 2020 from the family of local farmer and conservationist, the late Angela Hughes. In 2022, a nature reserve at the farm was named in her honour and the 700m wildlife corridor on the former railway can be visited by prior appointment.

For those who like walking or cycling Bere Marsh Farm is a pleasant 2.5 miles away from Sturminster Newton along the North Dorset Trailway – a former railway line.
